1. Service overview
KnowYourPlant provides plant identification, care guidance, reminders, room analysis, issue-diagnosis support, and related digital features. Some functionality is available for free, while other features require sign-in, an active subscription, or both.
By accessing or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account unless it results from our failure to protect it.
You may use the service only in compliance with applicable law. If you are using the service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. License to use the app
The KnowYourPlant app is licensed, not sold, to you. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app and service for your personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control.
You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer, modify, or attempt to extract source code from the app except to the extent that applicable law prohibits that restriction.
4. Guest sessions and saved content
If you use the app before signing in, some activity may be stored against a device-scoped guest session. We may attempt to transfer eligible saved plants, scans, and related records into your account when you later sign in, but we cannot guarantee recovery in every technical failure scenario.
5. Subscriptions, paywalls, and limits
Some features may be restricted by quota, account tier, or subscription status. Free and guest users may have limited scans, diagnosis visibility, or saved content access.
Our launch subscription products are planned as KnowYourPlant Pro Pack Monthly and KnowYourPlant Pro Pack Yearly. The monthly plan is planned at $9.99 per month in the United States. The yearly plan, local prices, taxes, introductory offers, and available currencies will be shown by Apple before you confirm purchase.
If you purchase an auto-renewable subscription in the iOS app, the subscription name, billing period, price, and any introductory offer will be presented in the purchase flow before you confirm payment. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase through Appleās In-App Purchase system.
Auto-renewable subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Apple may charge your Apple ID account for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current billing period at the price then in effect and shown by Apple.
If a free trial or introductory offer is available, the subscription will automatically convert to the applicable paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial or introductory period ends.
You can manage or cancel Apple subscriptions in your App Store account settings. If you reinstall the app, change devices, or sign back in, you may be able to restore paid access by using the restore purchases flow or otherwise revalidating your subscription with Apple.
Refunds for Apple-billed purchases are handled by Apple under Appleās policies, not by KnowYourPlant directly. We may validate receipts, transaction data, or subscription status before granting, restoring, or continuing paid access, and we may suspend paid features if a transaction is reversed, refunded, expired, or fraudulent.
If pricing changes for an Apple-billed subscription, Apple will present any required notices, consents, and billing changes under App Store rules. Continued access after a pricing change is subject to Appleās subscription processes and your right to cancel before renewal.
6. Apple App Store terms
If you download the iOS app through the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and KnowYourPlant, not Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Your use of the iOS app must also comply with the applicable Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
Unless a separate custom EULA is provided in App Store Connect, Appleās standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement may also apply to the iOS app to the extent required by the App Store.
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the iOS app. To the extent permitted by applicable law, KnowYourPlant, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to comply with legal or regulatory requirements, and claims that the app infringes a third partyās intellectual property rights.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Apple and Appleās subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms as they relate to the iOS app and may enforce those terms against you.
7. Not expert or emergency advice
KnowYourPlant offers practical product guidance, not professional horticultural, veterinary, toxicology, legal, or medical advice. Identification and diagnosis outputs are generated from models and available signals, and they may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated.
You are responsible for how you use results from the service, including any action you take for your plants, home, pets, or household.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service, including by attempting to bypass quotas or paywalls, scraping or reverse engineering protected parts of the product, uploading unlawful or harmful content, interfering with service availability, or using the service to violate another personās rights.
9. Availability and changes
We may update, suspend, or remove features, plans, quotas, or portions of the service at any time. We do not guarantee that the service will always be available, error free, or suitable for every plant, home environment, or diagnosis scenario.
10. Intellectual property
The KnowYourPlant service, design, branding, software, and related content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not give you ownership of the service or any right to copy or redistribute it beyond normal use.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent allowed by law, the service is provided on an āas isā and āas availableā basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of plants, data, revenue, profits, goodwill, or business arising from or related to your use of the service.
13. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, abuse the service, or create risk for the platform, other users, or our providers.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised Terms. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
